Hello,
my name is Max Appel. I am a director and motion designer based in Berlin and Stockholm. My profession started following my Bachelor's degree of Arts in graphic design obtained at Hochschule Düsseldorf. During my studies I fell in love with film and animation because of their ability to combine photography, illustration, sound and storytelling.
Over the past three years I have been writing, directing and producing mostly social media content for brands such as Volkswagen, Mezzomix and Volvo for the award winning agencies aperto (IBM) and Plantage IX Berlin.
My strength is my broad variety of skills. From concept to design or film production and animation. My work format is flexible and I can easily adapt deliveries to fulfill the needs of specific clients and towards different audiences.
